Elizabeth Suggs, Founder

Hello and welcome! I am an AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) trained and certified guide and I hold a Bachelor of Science at Texas Woman’s University. I have a Master of Education from Loyola University Maryland. I also am a CALP (Certified Academic Language Practitioner) through ALTA (Academic Language Therapy Association). I have over 20 years of experience working with young children ages 2.5 – 6 years of age and 10 years spent guiding my own Montessori “Children’s House” environment at a non-profit school in Austin, Texas.

My family and I moved here in the summer of 2023 to live closer to my mom and we love calling Vermont home. Now that we have begun settling in, it’s time to come back to one of my many passions and that is providing an enriching Montessori environment for young children. When I’m not thinking about lessons, interests and inspiration in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two teenagers, jogging, and cooking, singing and spending time with friends and our newest family member, our sweet dog, Clover.

Testimonials

“It was an absolute privilege to have Elizabeth as our daughter’s Guide. Her dedication to the Montessori philosophy is evident in every interaction—encouraging independence, nurturing curiosity, and respecting each child’s unique pace of learning. Elizabeth created a calm, inviting environment where children felt safe to explore, ask questions, and grow both academically and emotionally.

Thanks to her compassionate approach, our child developed, not just foundational academic skills, but confidence, self-discipline, and a genuine love of learning. We credit our daughter’s love of singing and playing instruments to the joy it brought her throughout her time with Elizabeth. We are incredibly grateful for the positive and lasting impact she had on our child’s early education.”

“Elizabeth Suggs is a masterful Montessori Guide.  Her understanding and implementation of the Montessori pedagogy, her calm demeanor, and her keen observational eye help create an environment where children thrive.  Our daughter couldn’t wait to get to school every single day.  We will be forever grateful to Elizabeth for empowering our daughter to grow in her independence, self-confidence, and general well-being while in her classroom.”

“It was a true pleasure and privilege to be part of Elizabeth Suggs’ Children’s House community for a total of six years with my two daughters. Elizabeth is an exceptionally skilled and AMI-trained Montessori guide. She strikes a remarkable balance between meeting the high standards of an AMI-recognized school and remaining deeply attuned to the individual social and emotional needs of each child.

Beyond the classroom, Elizabeth also provides thoughtful, consistent support to parents, helping to bridge the Montessori environment at school with the one at home—ensuring that each child is able to thrive fully.

I wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth’s school to any family seeking authentic and compassionate Montessori education.”
